Scripps Notary provides professional, reliable notary service throughout Scripps Ranch and the surrounding San Diego communities. Whether you need a Power of Attorney, Trust, Affidavit, real estate document, healthcare directive, or other paperwork notarized, we offer both traditional and mobile notary service.

Need a notary to come to you? We meet clients at homes, offices, hospitals, assisted living facilities, skilled nursing facilities, and other mutually agreed-upon locations. Same-day appointments may be available — contact us for availability.

Notary Fees

California law caps notary fees at $15 per signature (rising to $20 on January 1, 2027). We charge $10 per signature — below the state maximum.

Mobile Notary Travel Fees

Travel fees are separate from California notary fees and are based on the appointment location.

Appointment Policies

Document Requirements

• Documents must be complete before the appointment — incomplete, unsigned, or blank documents will not be notarized.
• Do not sign your document in advance; signers sign in the notary’s presence unless instructed otherwise.
• Signers are responsible for making sure documents are complete and ready. California notaries cannot provide legal advice or help prepare documents.

Identification Requirements

Every signer must present acceptable identification as required by California law. Review our ID requirements before your appointment.

When Travel Fees Still Apply

The travel fee still applies if the notarization cannot be completed because:

• Required identification is not presented
• Documents are incomplete or unsuitable for notarization
• The signer is unwilling or unable to sign
• The signer is not present at the appointment
• California notary requirements cannot be satisfied
• The appointment is canceled upon arrival

Wait Time Policy

Please be ready at the scheduled appointment time. If the notary waits more than 20 minutes past the scheduled time, an additional charge of $20.00 applies for each 20-minute period thereafter.

Document Printing Fees

Printing fees may apply when you ask us to print documents for the appointment. Please ask about printing costs when scheduling.
